Historical Research Project Poster

This informational poster was for a history of graphic design course. The main focus of this design was clarifying the visuals to show their relevance as examples. Because my topic focused on Ancient Egyptian scripts, the biggest challenge was helping modern English speakers understand the symbols. For most of the visuals, I chose to show the entire context with a close-up of the relevant portions and highlights of the most relevant portion on the close-up as well as where the close-up came from on the larger image. Other considerations included making the symbols more legible—so for two examples, I included modern versions of the symbols beside or superimposed on the relevant text to make them more apparent—and dividing information on the page, which I did using ancient Egyptian cartouches as frames.
